Exit-Readiness & Earnings Quality

Leave with
what it's worth.

Anchor Earnings helps business owners get exit-ready — clean financials, defensible earnings, and a business a buyer can trust. Whether you sell in two years or ten, the work starts now.

Free 30-minute call — we'll tell you honestly how buyer-ready your business is today, and what would move the number.

Why exit-readiness

Most businesses sell for less than they should

Buyers discount what they can't verify. Messy books, owner-dependent operations, and unproven earnings all shrink your multiple — and the discounts are avoidable if you start early.

Numbers a buyer can trust

Clean, consistent financials and earnings quality that stand up to diligence — no surprises, no last-minute repricing.

Value drivers, not guesswork

Driver-based forecasting that shows exactly what moves your valuation — so you spend the years before a sale improving the right things.

A business that runs without you

Reporting and processes that prove the business isn't just you — the single biggest multiple-killer for owner-operators.

How it works

From "someday" to sale-ready in three stages

Stage 1 — Assess

Exit-Readiness Assessment

A structured review of your financials, operations, and owner-dependence. You get a readiness score and a prioritized fix list.

Stage 2 — Build

Diligence-Ready Build

We clean up the books, standardize reporting, and build the driver-based forecast a buyer's team will want to see.

Stage 3 — Maintain

Exit-Readiness Retainer

Ongoing quarterly upkeep so your business stays sale-ready — and when the call comes, you negotiate from strength.

Who we work with

Built for owner-operated businesses, not corporate finance departments

Trades and service businesses.

Contractors, specialty trades, field service, and the operations built on crews, jobs and equipment rather than product SKUs.

Somewhere between two and ten years out.

Early enough that the fixes still have time to compound. If you are already under LOI, say so on the call and we will tell you honestly whether we can help in the time you have left.

Straight answers

The questions owners actually ask

"I'm not selling for years. Isn't this early?"

This is the right time and it is the only real advantage you have. Earnings quality is built out of history, so a buyer looks at two or three years of numbers. Fixing your books the year you sell just documents the mess. Fixing them three years out means the clean years are the ones on the table.

"My accountant already handles my books."

Good, and they should keep handling them. Your accountant's job is to keep your tax bill down. A buyer is asking a different question: what does this business earn without the owner in it. Those two answers rarely look the same on paper, and the second one is the one you get paid on. We work alongside your accountant, not instead of them.

"The business runs fine. Why does any of this matter?"

Because a buyer is not paying for how it runs. They are paying for what they can verify. Anything that only lives in your head is a risk they price in, and owner-dependence is the single biggest multiple-killer for owner-operated businesses.

"What does it cost?"

It depends on the shape your numbers are in, which is why the first call is free and why we start with an assessment instead of a proposal. You will get a straight number before any work starts.

"What if I never sell?"

Then you spend the next decade running a business with clean books, a forecast that works, and less depending on you personally. Everything on this list is worth doing whether or not anyone ever buys it.
